Educational Equity We are actively working to raise awareness about the importance of extending the career and college prep curriculum known as the "A-G" curriculum to all students, regardless of their background, neighborhood or income level. As a result of our efforts this past year, the San Diego Unified School District adopted a policy making "A-G" the standard curriculum for all students beginning with the incoming class of 9th graders. Learn more by clicking on this issue area. Fair Tax & Fiscal Policies The Equality Alliance is working with statewide allies to address the state's broken budget system and tax infrastructure. For the past several years, the legislative budget process has ended in a stalemate with disastrous economic results that disproportionately and negatively impact working class and poor families. There has to be a better way to decide on a budget and fund essential services. Learn more by clicking on this issue area. While reasonable people can disagree about what needs to be done to fix our broken immigration system, we should all agree to treat immigrants humanely. After all, they are parents, children, neighbors, colleagues, fellow faith worshipers, community volunteers, and friends.
